Frequently asked
How do I import my running history from another app?
Pacelit doesn't import from third-party services in v1.0. We're prioritizing privacy — most importers require sending your full activity history to a server we don't run. If you use Apple Health, any workouts written there by other apps will be visible to Pacelit (with your permission), but they remain in Apple Health.
My GPS track looks jagged — what can I do?
Pacelit applies a Kalman filter to smooth GPS samples, but raw signal quality depends on your device, sky visibility, and how you carry the phone. For best results: enable 'Precise Location' in iOS Settings, keep the phone out of a deep pocket, and let GPS warm up for 30 seconds before starting.
Why do I have to grant 'Always' location permission?
iOS only allows tracking with the screen off when an app has 'Always' location and an active foreground service. Pacelit only samples GPS during a tracking session you started — it never reads your location in the background otherwise.
Will my Apple Watch keep tracking if I leave my phone behind?
Yes. The Pacelit watchOS app supports standalone tracking. The watch records GPS (Series 4+ with cellular or paired phone) and heart rate, then syncs to your iPhone the next time they're connected.
How do I delete a single activity?
Tap the activity from History → swipe-to-reveal → Delete. The record and its route coordinates are removed from the on-device database immediately.
How do I delete everything?
Settings → Data → Erase all activities. This wipes the activity database and resets all preferences. Uninstalling the app from your device also removes all Pacelit data.
Can I export my data?
Yes. Settings → Data → Export → choose GPX (per activity) or a JSON archive (full history). Files are saved through the share sheet to whichever destination you pick.
Where can I report a bug or request a feature?
Email rbtaskiran@gmail.com with 'Pacelit:' in the subject line. Screenshots, device model, and OS version are extremely helpful. I read every email personally.
